British-headquartered real estate advisor Savills reached a momentous milestone in its corporate development when it made to the Top 5 “British Company of the Year in China” at the British Business Awards (BBA) 2016 Gala Dinner. Held in the InterContinental Shanghai, the Gala Dinner announced awards to finalists in eight categories. Savills stood out as the first British real estate company to be ranked the Top 5.
Also ranked among the first rank of British companies in China were Arup, InterContinental Hotels Group, Jaguar Land Rover China and University of Nottingham.
While the title was ultimately rewarded to Jaguar Land Rover China, Savills feels honoured to have been included in a line-up recognized for improving the friendship and cooperation between China and the UK.
Hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce, the BBA Awards have been rewarded every two years since their establishment in 2008. This international event aims to recognize and promote innovation and success in the China-based British business community. A number of renowned UK corporations were included in the awards list. Patron of the 2016 BBA was Barbara Woodward, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, while judges were carefully selected from the upper management of well-known corporations.
“I am delighted to be a Patron of tonight’s BBA Awards to celebrate a lot of things. British innovation, creativity, professional expertise, excellence in education and science create tens of thousands of new Chinese “ambassadors” for the UK every year. These awards do exactly that.” Barbara Woodward said.
John Edwards, Consul General of the British Consulate in Shanghai also attended the Gala Awards Dinner, accompanied by key British governors and Phil Roebuck, executive director of the British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai.
“It was a truly incredible moment of success for Savills to be recognized as a Top 5 finalist. It proves, without a doubt, the outstanding quality of consultancy services offered by Savills. I believe this award will leave an important mark in the course of our business growth in China.” Albert Lau, CEO of Savills China says.
