Chris O’Dempsey, Director of Heart Reach Australia reports on a First Aid Training course that he delivered in Ben Tre (Mekong Delta) from 24-25 November, 2016.

Please see below.

I am back in HCMC after a busy week.

The First Aid programs in Ben Tre have been brilliant. I had health officials and medical students joining in as well as year 12 high school students. I was given a plaque last week by the Vietnamese government following 26 years of medical, health and education programs among the poor. They urged the continuation of the first aid programs in the high schools. Looks like major work ahead, provided there is some support and sponsorship to cover the costs.

The Pleiku trip was interesting. My family there are harvesting coffee. I had a few first aid issues to deal with, but also some immediate prevention issues re electrical set up to ensure they are still around for the next visit!!
