GRADUATE optometrist Tuong Nghiem traded his Sunbury workplace for the back villages of Vietnam in an April outreach program to the country of his birth.

Mr Nghiem, who works for Specsavers in Sunbury, travelled to Tien Giang, two hours south of Ho Chi Minh City, as part of the Fred Hollows Foundation’s Vietnam Child Eye Care Project.

The visit saw him collaborate with more than 20 doctors from district and provincial eye hospitals.

It also enabled the Australian delegation to set up a two-day training program for local professionals as well as allowing for hundreds of eye tests at schools…
