Mekong Innovative Start-up Tourism program – what is it?
The Australian-funded Mekong Business Initiative (MBI) in partnership with the Mekong Tourism Coordination Office (MTCO) has launched the Mekong Innovative Start-up Tourism (MIST) program which encourages innovation and entrepreneurship in the Mekong’s burgeoning tourism sector. MIST aims to support innovative new travel and tourism-related ventures in the developing destinations and source markets of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam. MIST will mentor new ventures, provide support and guidance, and match them with suitable investors
MIST what does it do?
MIST has two acceleration tracks. One focuses on early-stage tourism startups already based in Greater Mekong Subregion. The other welcomes mature businesses based elsewhere that wish to expand into the Mekong tourism market. Graduates of both acceleration tracks will receive individualised support including matchmaking, assistance entering global accelerators, and coaching from MBI and the MTCO experts.
How to apply?
- Applications under both MIST tracks can be made directly via the MIST Website (mist.asia).
- Applications close 26 March 2017.
