Born in Sydney to parents who immigrated from Hue, in central Vietnam, David Tran grew up in Sydney's western suburbs. Having visited Vietnam for the first time in 2008 and after leaving a corporate job in 2016, David started his Australian export company Transfruits Pty Ltd and then his Vietnamese import company Vietnam Australia Import Export Co Ltd a year later. As the business grew, David moved to Vietnam in 2019 and now supplies fruit to many of the premium supermarkets in Ho Chi Minh City with a view to becoming one of the best importers and exporters of Australian and Vietnamese produce.
