About
Skye is a qualified social worker with over 15 years’ experience in Australia and Vietnam working with marginalized youth. Skye first came to Blue Dragon in 2006 as an Australian Youth Ambassador for Development, establishing programs for street and disadvantaged youth through theatre and the arts. She returned in 2009 to establish similar programming for survivors of child labor in central Vietnam.
In 2010, Skye returned to Australia, graduated with a Master’s in Social Work, and provided social work services for children and youth as well as newly arrived refugee families and migrant communities for six years before returning again to Blue Dragon. Skye has been instrumental in establishing quality youth services, excellent safeguarding policies and procedures, and trauma-informed social work and psychology services at Blue Dragon.
She initiated the establishment of Blue Dragon's Psychology and Social Work department and Child Protection & Safeguarding Advisory committee to ensure the highest quality of care for all Blue Dragon beneficiaries. Skye has been a co-CEO since 2019. In 2022, she received the Outstanding Alumni Award from the James Cook University for her “tireless compassion” and “vision for a better world.”
