Two AusCham members, Dr Roderick Crouch (Executive Principal of the Australian International School (AIS)) and Brian O’Reilly (Managing Director of SEA Management Consulting and AusCham Director), were recently asked to be mentors/coaches for various start-up companies in education and educational technology.

Emerging Innovation, a Vietnamese group, is running a series of private mentoring sessions for start-up companies to impact positively on education in Vietnam.

The first session was held at the Saigon Innovation Hub on 22 April 2017.

The Expert Panel, including Rod Crouch (far left), listens to a presentation.

Each start-up was given the opportunity to present its solution/business in front of a panel of experienced mentors and experts. Mentors then provided feedback and advice in one-to-one sessions (see banner photo above).

Australia is a world leader in education and though various AusCham members such as AIS, has much to offer Vietnam.

Rod has provided similar expertise to school principals when he was working in the UAE, and has already collaborated with RMIT University to provide workshops for government school principals in HCMC.

Brian is well known for his leadership of the VBF’s Education and Training Group as well as for being a Director of AusCham.
