The sponsorship agreement was sealed on 17th Feb 2014 afternoon at the HCMC Opera House as part of the EUROPEAN International School’s rebranding ceremony. EIS has now formally changed its name from “German International School” to “EUROPEAN International School HCMC”.

Johns noted that the new motto of EIS, ‘Educating global citizens’ was particularly apt and a very good fit with AusCham’s Silver Sponsorship. “Here we have the EUROPEAN International School located in Vietnam, Asia, forging a strong partnership with the Australian Chamber of Commerce. EIS is bringing together education, citizens and business on the global stage.”
Mr. Michael Osswald, EIS’ General Director said, “The rebranding consolidates the school’s vision and strategy. It reflects our heritage and the successful evolution of the school towards a truly international school with English as the main language of instruction and a diverse student and faculty body. We find the motto of the European Union – ‘united in diversity’ – inspiring for an international school and the fact that the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), whose curricula we will adopt, was founded in Switzerland has also played a role for choosing such a name.
We will continue to build a strong, sustainable future for the school, while placing the highest priority on the quality of education for our students and the needs of our parents. The rebranding does not impact the direction or operation of the school. EIS will continue to offer the German language and will strive to bring European values of education and diversity through quality teaching and education”, said Osswald.
AusCham looks forward to working very closely with the EUROPEAN International School HCMC in 2014.
