29 June 2015 – From Sydney to Saigon to Shanghai: an Australian banker reflects. 6-8pm, Lotus Apartments, Danang

In 2006, Danny Armstrong arrived in Saigon from Sydney, tasked with the job of opening the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) in Vietnam. While in Vietnam, he was also a Director and Vice Chairman of AusCham.

In 2011, with CBA operating strongly in the local market, Danny moved to Shanghai as Country Head China for National Australia Bank. Additional roles he has picked up with Austcham Shanghai include being its Finance Director and Chairman of its Financial Services Industry Group.

Danny has banking experience in the sophisticated but relatively small market of Australia, the emerging market of Vietnam and the juggernaut of China which grows by the size of Vietnam’s economy every 90 days.

MC for the evening will be AusCham’s Executive Director, Phil Johns, supported by AusCham’s Official Representative (Danang), Quentin Derrick.

Thank you to Banking Event’s Sponsors

AusCham sincerely thanks the event sponsors below for their support, together with Danny Armstrong, in helping bring this event together.

AusCham does not receive any funding from Government sources and so the support of these sponsors is critical when the Chamber hosts free events.
