AusCham is delighted to unveil our new logo, effective immediately.
The logo was unveiled last night in spectacular style at Sundowners HCMC on the roof top of the Caravelle Saigon.
Mr Tran Quoc Trung, an alumnus from RMIT University Vietnam (a Titanium Sponsor of AusCham) designed the winning logo – and in the process, won an Armani Exchange Watch for his girlfriend, Ms Que. The watch was sponsored by Tanwani, the Official authorized distributor for the Fossil portfolio brands in Vietnam.
Mr Trung explains below:
The Golden Wattle flower in the logo is not only a symbol of Australian culture and spirit, it also represents union and connection. Thus, I would like to illustrate the shape of the Wattle flower to emphasize the strong connection in the co-operated development of Australia and Vietnam.
The Logo is a Wattle flower symbol which is created by two elements, including a green Commonwealth star (7-point star) and 7 golden circles.
A seven-point star symbolises the Federation of Australia which came into force on 1 January 1901 and is also presented in Australian flag.
The Golden circle. The current logo has many small circles which symbolizes that AusCham links extend throughout each of Vietnam’s provinces, as well as back into Australia. What a fantastic idea! However, the previous execution is a bit difficult for audience to recognize and visualize.
As “less is more”, I still kept the circles, but improve it by reducing the number to 7 circles which wrap around the star to create a shape of Wattle flower.
COLOR. Moreover, the color of green and gold well represent Australia. Since these 2 colors have been used in the current AusCham logo, I have adjusted to a different tone of green and gold to bring a more dynamic and modern experience to the new logo.
AusCham sincerely thanks and appreciates the work of Mr Mr Tran Quoc Trung. We also extend our thanks to Tanwani, the Official authorized distributor for the Fossil portfolio brands in Vietnam for their generous support of this exciting initiative.
