They would like to take this opportunity to introduce you the new Governance and Transparency Working Group under the VBF framework. The establishment of the Working Group is to bring international governance and transparency best practices to Vietnam for improvement of businesses’ confidence in Vietnam’s long-term sustainable development.

The targeted outcome of the Working Group in this cycle is to develop a position paper covering the most pressing issues on corruption/bribery that businesses are facing in Vietnam and proposing specific recommendations. The position paper will be presented at the Anti-corruption Dialogue, a back-to-back event with the Annual Consultative Group Meeting and the Annual VBF 2013. This year the Anti-corruption Dialogue on 22 November will focus on Role of businesses in anti-corruption, where the business will be invited as a main partner to dialogue with the government.

In implementation of the mentioned plan, they would like to invite you to the first internal discussion (video conference) of the Working Group with details as follows:

+ Discuss possibility to participate in a collective action against bribery in Vietnam (a concept note will be circulated nearer the date)

They have invited the UK Department for International Development (lead donor in Anti-corruption) and Towards Transparency (Transparency International Contact in Vietnam), who are leading the preparation for the Anti-corruption Dialogue to join the discussion.
