Dragon Fruit, or “Thanh Long” in Vietnamese, is one of the most favourtite fruits among local. The skin of the dragon fruit is a thin rind in dark red color. Both the juicy white flesh and the tiny black seeds distributed across the flesh of the dragon fruit are edible and nutritious.

Tò He, or toy figurine, is a traditional Vietnamese toy that local children are exceedingly fond of. Tò He is made of glutinous rice powder in the form of edible figurines such as animals, flowers or characters in folk stories.
To create a Tò He figurine, the craftsman needs a mixture of glutinous and ordinary rice powders which is easily to knead into different shapes and edible for children, bamboo sticks to plant the shaped Tò He and his own skill in graphic depicting.
Nowadays, Tò He was made and sold on the occasion of festivals. Tò He is one of the rare surviving traditional toys of Vietnam. The art of Tò He making is considered a cultural ambassador of Vietnam and there are many efforts in order to preserve and develop this traditional art.

Ho Chi Minh city is a hustling bustling city with lots of modern buildings, but it also has ancient markets that truly characterize Vietnamese culture and its people.
Soai Kinh Lam Fabric Market or Dong Khanh Department Store in District 5 is a big fabric market with nearly 500 stalls. There is an endless selection of fabrics from spandex to silks, voile, khaki, and so on – as well as other fabrics to make curtains, sheets, and tablecloths.
You can get lots of outrageously bright, highly-patterned material here. The market thrives with colors and one can see merchants endlessly rolling and unrolling bolts of fabric on the street.
