Dear Members and Friends
  • AusCham has formally advised it would like to be affiliated with the new AustCham ASEAN. AustCham ASEAN, comprising the Australian business groups in ASEAN will give Australian business a formal voice at the ASEAN table.
  • Last night in HCMC, the HCMC Directors had a private dinner with the new Australian Ambassador, Craig Chittick, as well as the Consul General and Senior Trade Commissioner for Austrade discussing how we can all work more effectively together.
  • On Tuesday in HCMC, the Embassy / Consulate convened a workshop with all stakeholders with an interest in alumni. AusCham continues to be a keen supporter of those alumni involved in business as it gives our members far greater reach and access.
  • Yesterday was Martyrs and Wounded Soldiers Day in Vietnam. I joined a ceremony in Binh Ba (see photos). On 16 August, two days prior to Australia’s Vietnam Veterans’ Day, AusCham will host a special Sundowners in HCMC that recognizes the amazing distance travelled I n the Vietnam-Australia-New Zealand relationship in the past 50 years. Attendees include the presidents of AusCham, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the NZ Chamber of Commerce.
  • Tomorrow, AusCham will support a new business networking event in Phu Quoc which will now be held monthly.
  • Congratulations to Soul Music and Performing Arts Academy on its 4th Anniversary. See video interview of Australian, Thanh Bui afterwards.
  • AusCham is delighted to welcome QL International Education (see video of Monday’s launch).
