Weekly Update from the Executive Director, Michael Roberts [19 July 2018]
Dear Members and Friends,
In the very near future we will be calling for nominations for the Australian Business Awards 2019. These Awards, first held in 2018, recognise business excellence across a number of areas that are generic to all businesses, large and small. The areas include Innovation, Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility and Brand, with a new award this year for Best Emerging Business. The major Award for the evening will be for overall Business Excellence, won in 2018 by The Mavin Group.
Entering the Australian Business Awards is relatively easy, and this year we will introduce some guidelines to assist business owners and managers prepare their submissions. This won’t be onerous but simply a number of “prompts” that help you to identify aspects of your business activity in the award area that you have chosen, that will in turn assist judges in determining the winner for each category. You can of course enter more than one category. We encourage businesses to self-nominate, but nominations can be from a third party, in which case we will contact the nominated business immediately to inform them and to accept the nomination. The winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner to be held on Friday March 8th 2019. Entries are open only to members of AusCham who can demonstrate a tangible connection to Australia.
If you have any questions about the Australian Business Awards, either entering or supporting, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
