Weekly Update from the Executive Director, Michael Roberts [28 June 2018]

Dear Members and Friends,

This week two successful events were held, one in Hanoi and one in Ho Chi Minh City, providing an overview to members and others of current employment laws, work permits and taxation. These business briefings are intended to keep our members up to date on the complex issues that surround doing business in Vietnam, and it was pleasing to see such good support. We have more ideas for business briefings in Hanoi and HCMC, and we will keep you updated.

On Thursday 30th August our first Education Symposium will be held at The Reverie Saigon, under the title of “How Australian Education Prepares Students for the 21stCentury”. The program is coming together, and there will be a range of education experts speaking on Australian education across primary, secondary, tertiary and vocational. For anyone who is involved in the education sector, this is a must-attend event. More details will follow soon, but for now please mark your diary.

Some more news regarding another Symposium will be sent out shortly, scheduled for later in the year, focusing on one of Vietnam’s fastest growing and exciting industry sectors. Stay tuned!
