We recently surveyed members of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam and many of our members are experiencing hardship as a result of the travel restrictions which have prevented many foreign employees and their family members who are residents of Vietnam from travelling back home to Vietnam.
According to the survey respondents, there are approximately 100 foreign employees of members of Australian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam that are currently located outside of Vietnam wanting to come back to Vietnam to continue their employment and contribute to economic activity for Vietnam. The numbers of people that require to travel to Vietnam will be more if we also include direct family members (i.e. spouse and children) who need to travel with the foreign employee. There are also family members who need to reunite with the foreign employee in Vietnam after many months separated.
