AusCham is delighted to welcome Western Australian Primary and High School (WAPS) as a Corporate Member in 2015/16.
Western Australian Primary and High School Classroom First philosophy puts students at the center of everything they do. They know that what happens in a classroom has the greatest in-school influence on student learning and achievement.
Putting this philosophy into practice and into practical support is a series of strategic and action-oriented plans guiding our priorities for student learning and school improvement; thier introduction of new programs and initiatives; and their commitment to support and service schools to ensure success.
By focusing on the priorities and aspirations in these plans, they will make a real difference to their students and to the communities they serve across Western Australia.

Mission, goals and values

Mission: For every child to be provided with a high quality public school education – whatever their ability, wherever they live, whatever their background.

 Goals: As a public school system they aim to achieve the twin goals of excellence and equity. They provide opportunities that extend and challenge every child to achieve the highest possible standards and their personal best; and they provide high quality education in communities across Western Australia.

Values: They are guided by four core values in everything they do. In stating these values, they acknowledge that words alone are not sufficient: it is actions based on these values that are important.

Learning: They have a positive approach to learning and encourage it in others; they advance student learning based on our belief that all students have the capacity to learn.

Excellence: They have high expectations of our students and ourselves. They set standards of excellence and strive to achieve them. The standards and expectations challenge all of them to give of our best.

Equity: They recognize the differing circumstances and needs of our students and are dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for all. They strive to create workplaces and learning environments that are free of discrimination, abuse or exploitation.

Care: They treat all individuals with care. Their relationships are based on trust, mutual respect and the acceptance of responsibility. They recognize the value of working in partnership with parents/carers and the wider community in providing a quality education for our students.
