Weekly Update from the Executive Director, Michael Roberts [25 October 2018]

Dear Members and Friends

2019 is just around the corner, and the AusCham board recently approved an extensive event calendar that will see an increase in major events, as well as monthly business briefings in both HCMC and Hanoi.  In April 2019 we will be holding our inaugural Tourism Symposium in Da Nang, an event that is already generating lots of interest not just in that beautiful coastal destination but country wide, and we are expecting a large number of delegates to attend to look closely at this important economic sector.  There will also be plenty of opportunities to network, and our representatives in Da Nang will be hosting a Sundowners on the evening of the 18th to welcome delegates.  Other details, including some exciting key note speakers will be announced soon.  The major event that will kick our program off in style in 2019 will be the Australian Business Awards, scheduled for Friday 8th March, and a reminder to businesses who want to be considered for an award that nominations and entries must be received by close of business on 14th December 2018.  I will be in Hanoi next Thursday conducting a workshop on the Awards at the Hilton Hanoi Opera immediately prior to Sundowners, so please come along if you are interested in entering, and stay for our popular networking event.

In regard to the rest of 2018 our very successful Real Estate Symposium will be held on Thursday 8th November at The Reverie Saigon.  This is the only real estate event in Vietnam that brings together the most influential players and the entire value chain from all sectors of the Vietnam Real Estate industry for networking, learning and transaction. Registrations are now open, and we encourage you to book now.  We also have several Business Briefings in both HCMC and Hanoi, details of which can be found on our website.

Kind regards

Michael Roberts
