Every eight hours a rhino is killed by poachers hacking the precious ivory horn from the animal’s head.
80 per cent of the illegal trade in rhino horn ends up in Vietnam.
This morning, the Wilderness Foundation Africa (an AusCham Member) delivered a presentation in HCMC on Rhino Poaching Issues in South Africa which was followed by a panel discussion on Rhino Horn Demand in Vietnam. The panel included two representatives from WFA, a Vietnamese traditional medicine doctor and Mr Thanh Bui – WFA’s first Rhino Ambassador.
