According to regulations of the People’s Committee of Quang Binh province and British experts, Son Doong will not receive adventurers in the last months of the year for its environment protection and biodiversity conservation as well as giving porters and guides a chance to have a break.

Son Doong cave tour in 2015 is full with about 482 local and international visitors. The US has the highest number of travelers with 145 tourists booking to the cave, followed by Australia with 123 people, Vietnam with 115 holiday makers and others countries…

Son Doong cave tour is not a pleasure trip or vacation, it is an exploration trip being  full of obstacles and challenges…

The five day and four night tour costs US$3,000 a person. Each tour has a maximum of 10 visitors, totaling a maximum of 500 tourists for the entire year…

The company receives hundreds of registrations every day for the 2016 tour, but it is still waiting for license from the People’s Committee of Quang Binh Province.


* Sister Caves – Son Doong and caves in Margaret River River Region of Western Australia

On 20 February 2015, the People’s Committee of Quang Binh and Australia’s Augusta Margaret River Tourism Association signed an agreement to establish a symbiotic relationship between tourist caves in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park (Son Doong) and the Margaret River Region.

“The world’s first sister caves agreement was formalised in Margaret River town, Western Australia state”, reported Vietnam Colurs, Vietnam Travel News on 23 February 2015.
