HA NỘI (VNS) — Vietnamese artist Thanh Bui is one of the Asian celebrities appearing in a video clip entitled We The People for The Global Goals, being launched by the UN.

Bui and many international artists and celebrities such as Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lopez and Stephan Hawking speak about the global goals for sustainable development in the video.

There are 17 global sustainable development goals such as ending poverty and hunger; and ensuring good health and well-being, quality education and gender equality…

“When I was small, I knew about social activities conducted by the UN. I was inspired by ambassadors whose voices and ideas helped to change the world,” Bui told online newspaper

“I wish I could be like them. Our dream is now coming true. I’m very proud to be one of the ambassadors for the Global Goals by the UN.”

Bui is an Australian-Vietnamese singer and songwriter. In 2008, he became the first Australian of Vietnamese origin to reach the top eight of Australian Idol.

He returns to Viet Nam and works for his projects. He set up a Sound Music and Performing Arts Academy in HCM City in 2012.

The academy co-operates with the Loreto Viet Nam Australia Programme, an education organisation, to raise funds for opening music classes in remote areas…
