Export Promotion – Trade and Investment in Australia Market is one of the most prominent eventsconducted in 2018 by Tien Thinh International in co-operation of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Ho Chi Minh City Branch, in order to assist Vietnamese Enterprises making trade connections and learning about Australia market.

Representative of VCCI Ho Chi Minh, Mr. Vo Tan Thanh – Vice President of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Ho Chi Minh City Branch said that in recent years, many Vietnamese enterprises and individuals have started to make investments into Australia in various fields, such as real estate, education, agriculture, tourism … There are about 30,000 students and 300,000 people of Vietnamese origin migrated to Australia. In 2017,Bilateral trade turnover between Viet Nam and Australia is of about $ 6.5 billion, equally benefits both countries. Vietnam exports $ 3.3 billion and imports $ 3.2 billion from Australia. Previously, Vietnam’s main export products to Australia were oil and gas, but now the market has seen the drastic rise in the demands of agricultural, forestry and fishery products. Australia is Vietnam’s eighth biggest trade partner and has invested around 400 projects valued at 1.8 billion USD into the country.Moreover, Australian Government has a policy to encourage their businesses to invest in Vietnam. Each year, Australia provides ODA to Vietnam on the average of $ 150 million.

Having an assessment on the potential ofViet Nam and Australia trade, Mr. Vo Tan Thanh – Vice President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam (VCCI) states that Australia is now the 8th largest export partner and the 12thlargest import partner of Vietnam; on the other hand,Viet Nam is ranked 14th among other countries on both import and export aspects to Australia.

Related to investment in Australia, Mr. Le Thanh Tung – Director of Tien Thinh International Migration & Investment Company, says: “We have worked with and consultedmany Vietnamese businesses on trade promotion and investment. The ceremonyhas marked their companionships commencing from their practical needs and faculties. The two sides have agreed to business collaboration; to be specific, in consultancy, trade promotion support and business liaison, agricultural and wine products import and export policy from Australia to Viet Nam. In addition, Tien Thinh International also provides consultancy to businesses on how to set up business enterprises, to proceed legal procedures on products trading in Australia.

The event’s special guest – Mr. Gary Dawes – Senior Advisor of Trade Promotion, representing the Australian Association of Business Associations, asserts that the future of Vietnam – Australia trade cooperation is very bright as the Governments of the two countries have signed a joint statement on the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries in March 2018.

In term of investment, Australia has nearly 400 investment projects in Vietnam with a total capital of about $ 1.8 billion, ranking 19th out of 126 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. In addition, with the policy of encouraging businesses to invest abroad of the Australian Government, it is expected that the investment capital of Vietnam will continue to increase in the near future.
