AusCham is delighted to confirm that the 2016 Grand Final Scrambles, held on 30 September in Hanoi and HCMC, raised VND45,427,840  (approx. USD2,033) for the AusViet Charity Foundation.

Thank you to all sponsors and golfers for your generous support! (Click here for full details of sponsors and see photo below.)

AusViet Charity Foundation will use the funds to contribute towards the purchase of a Dental Digital X Ray Sensor worth $2,835. Click here for the full details.

From the HCMC and Hanoi and golf days, we raised USD1,850 and $691 respectively for a total of $2,541.

AusCham claims a management fee of 20 per cent (which equates to $508 this year) to partially off-set costs incurred for organising the golf days (eg staff salaries) – hence the amount donated being $2,033. (AusCham’s revenue generation activities are restricted to memberships, sponsorships, events and advertising.)

Originally, AusCham ambitiously hoped to also hold golf events for the first time in Phu Quoc and Nha Trang. However, this was a bit too optimistic and so we cancelled.

In Lang Co (near Danang), the event was postponed to Saturday 22 October. Now, it is possible for golfers to travel to Central Vietnam and “stay & play” and make a weekend out of it. Laguna Golf and Angsana resorts (AusCham Members) are putting on an amazing deal where the fee for golf, caddy and buggy is just $95. And, for an additional $55, you can get one night’s accommodation with breakfast.

But wait, there’s more! Laguna Lang Co will donate 50 per cent of the revenue (generated from golf and hotel rooms booked by golfers for this AusCham event) to AusViet Foundation.

The Challenge: If we can raise just $802 more, the AusViet Charitry Foundation will be able to purchase the Dental Digital X Ray Sensor outright! So, who can play golf at Laguna Lang Co??
