In preparation for 2019 regional minimum wages negotiations at the National Wages Council (NWC), the Bureau of Employer Activities of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) will have a meeting with the NWC’s Technical Team in the mid-April 2018 to discuss relevant issues. The adjustment of regional minimum wages is particularly important this year due to the increase of social security rates.

VCCI has kindly asked for VBF’s support to prepare a small report on evaluating the impacts of last year’s minimum wages policy as well as some current labor regulations/other policies that lead to increasing expenses of the businesses. We would like to herewith:

  • Call for kind support from your Chambers to contribute comments/inputs on this topic. Your contribution will be consolidated and finalised with the report at the VBF Human Resources WG’s meeting on 2nd April 2018. Due to the time constraint, please kindly send us before COB Tuesday, 27th March, 2018 for our further action.
  • We would like to call for a volunteer (Vietnamese speaking) to represent VBF to jointly prepare the mentioned report and present at the meeting with NWC’s Technical Team in Hanoi. The meeting’s specific date will be informed later.
