The Vietnam Business Forum has made the following announcement dated 6 June 2016: New Tourism Working Group’s Head: Mr. Colin Pine.


We would like to kindly inform that, as a result of nomination process among the VBF Tourism Working Group (“WG”), Mr. Colin Pine will be new Head of the VBF Tourism WG as of June 1st, 2016 replacing Mr. Ken Atkinson who resigned from the position.

Colin Pine has been living and working in Vietnam for over 20 years and is a fluent speaker of Vietnamese. He has been involved in several high-profile tourism related industries, including as General Director of the Ho Tram Project Company, the developer of Vietnam’s first integrated resort, The Grand – Ho Tram Strip and Vietnam’s best golf course, The Bluffs – Ho Tram Strip (ranked 74th in the world), Chief Executive Officer of Indochina Beach Hotels, the owner of the Furama Resort Danang, the first 5-star resort built in Central Vietnam, as well as other hospitality developments and Member of the Board of Directors of Vietjet Air, Vietnam’s first licensed private airline. Mr. Pine is also a member of Tourism Advisory Board working directly with Vietnam’s National Administration of Tourism.

Prior to working in the tourism and hospitality industry, Mr. Pine worked for a project of the United Nations and secured the land, financing and construction for the first purpose-built private international school in Vietnam, the United Nations International School of Hanoi.

We are looking forward to a fruitful and active year for the WG. Last but not least, your great support as well as your strong cooperation will play an important role in further development of the Tourism WG in particular and development of VBF in general.
