“Vietnam’s 50 Best-Performing Companies 2017” is based on business results and management capacity over three consecutive fiscal years: 2015, 2016 and 2017. Stock Return to Investors – Compound Annual Growth Rate (SR-CAGR) and Return on Equity (ROE) each account for 35 per cent of an enterprise’s score while the remaining 30 per cent is decided by the market through returns to investors.

Vietjet’s SR-CAGR and ROE were 69 per cent and 71.3 per cent, respectively. The stock return rate was 204.4 per cent, with over $4 billion in market capitalization.

The total market capitalization of the Top 50 stands at $96 billion, or 63 per cent of total market capitalization, of which 16 companies in retail, consumer goods, banking, real estate, telecommunications, and aviation have more than $1 billion. This is evidence that Vietnam’s stock market has changed dramatically in scale and exhibits the maturity of the large enterprises that play leading roles in different economic sectors.
