VN, Australia launch work-and-holiday visa for youngsters, Vietnam News, 2 March 2017.
An edited extract of the original article appears below.
Australia and Việt Nam have started a reciprocal work and holiday visa programme from March 1.
The arrangement will allow young Vietnamese citizens, aged between 18 and 30 years, to travel to Australia for one year and take up short-term work and courses. It will also allow young Australians to work and holiday in Việt Nam.
Every year, 200 eligible Vietnamese applicants will be granted visas to Australia and 200 Australians can come to Việt Nam…
The work and holiday visa will allow Vietnamese citizens to engage in cultural exchange and tourism programmes; stay in Australia for 12 months from their date of arrival; work for the 12-month duration of their stay (but for not longer than six months with one employer); and do up to four-month-long courses.
After March 1, the work and holiday visa programme will reopen on July 1 every year.
