The following has been prepared by Water Safety Vietnam, an AusCham Member and 2015 Recipient of AusCham’s Charity Program.

The Vietnam Health Department is holding a two day National Injury Prevention Seminar from 21-22 December 2015.

The seminar is highlighting the importance of the country’s drowning prevention capability given that drowning accounts for the highest number of fatalities among children in Vietnam.

The drowning rate in Vietnam is 10 times higher than in developed countries.

Water Safety Vietnam is joining hands with two other charity swimming programs in Vietnam; namely Hue Help and Swim Vietnam.

Each NGO presented at this seminar as we are recognized at the national level. Also, each NGO will support the National Drowning Prevention Action Plan in the 2016 – 2020 period.

This news comes at the perfect time to send us into the holiday season with even more to celebrate as we say goodbye to 2015.

Water Safety Vietnam would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to AusCham Vietnam and all sponsors for your generous support in 2015.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
