Conference between Prime Minister and FDI Enterprises

In the morning of October 16, following a series of meaningful events to celebrate the 78th anniversary of Vietnamese Entrepreneur's Day (October 13), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference to meet FDI Enterprises, with the theme "Companion and development". The conference is organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment in coordination with the Government Office, with attendance of Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dzung, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, representatives of leaders of ministries, branches and localities. 

AusCham Vice-President David Whitehead attended the conference and gave speech on behalf of AusCham Vietnam. He appreciated the opportunity to meet with the Prime Minister and Ministers to promote investment cooperation opportunities; expressed commitment to coordinate and accompany the Government of Vietnam. He assessed that the Vietnamese Government closely coordinates with ministries, branches and localities to introduce timely policies and remove difficulties for businesses, thereby stabilizing the macroeconomy and controlling inflation. With a constructive role, the Government has truly accompanied FDI enterprises. The FDI community believes that the Vietnamese Government will continue to stabilize the macroeconomy, control inflation, and make Vietnam an attractive destination.

He also proposed that the Vietnamese Government need to improve and adjust land and work permit licensing procedures, cut unnecessary business procedures, and help Vietnam attract investment, especially in the semiconductor chip industry. VBF and AusCham Vietnam is committed to always accompanying the Government of Vietnam in the country's development journey.

In response, Prime Minister thanked the investors investing in Vietnam; and clearly stated Vietnam's 03 commitments to the FDI business community, namely: "Vietnam always protects the legal and legitimate rights and interests of investors in any case; always accompanying businesses to overcome difficulties and challenges, taking advantage of favorable opportunities for foreign investors to ensure stable, long-term and sustainable benefits in Vietnam on the principle of harmonious benefits and shared risks; Do not criminalize economic relations and civil relations, but handle those who do wrong and violate the law, protect those who do the right thing, and create a healthy and sustainable production and business ecosystem".
