AusCham Facilitates Dialogue Between Blackmores and the Vietnam Food Administration (VFA)
Hanoi, 02 December, 2025 - As part of AusCham’s continued advocacy efforts to support our members and enhance their visibility in Vietnam, AusCham facilitated a meeting between Blackmores Group and the Vietnam Food Administration (VFA). The meeting aimed to strengthen engagement, promote regulatory understanding, and explore future collaboration opportunities.
The Blackmores delegation was led by Christine Sidebottom, Senior Director for Regulatory, Quality and Pharmacovigilance, Daisuke Tajiri, Country Manager for Vietnam, and Park Ling, Government Affairs and Strategic Regulatory Director, accompanied by other regional regulatory experts. Representative from Austrade Ms. Cao Vu Hoang Chau, also joined the meeting, together with AusCham’s Head of Advocacy & Partnership, Ms. Huong Tran.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Chu Quoc Thinh, Acting Director General of VFA, along with leaders from relevant VFA departments.

During the discussion, Blackmores sought guidance from VFA on several key issues:
Product Registration:
Blackmores inquired about potential impacts of the revised Decree 15/2018/ND-CP—currently under VFA’s review and expected to take effect in early 2026—on existing registrations, ongoing registration dossiers, and the expected timeline for issuance of the new legislation.Advertising Regulations:
The delegation raised questions regarding how the upcoming legal framework may affect advertising registration procedures.Potential Collaboration:
Blackmores expressed interest in exploring opportunities for capacity-building initiatives and training programs with VFA.
VFA shared that the amended Law on Food Safety is anticipated to be promulgated in June 2026, while the revised decree and new resolution have already been submitted to the Government and are expected to be approved in the near future. VFA also highlighted several notable updates in the draft decree, including criteria for eligible applicants for product registration, timing for issuance of the new legislation, and enhancements to post-market surveillance mechanisms.
Importantly, VFA expressed its openness to collaborate with Blackmores, particularly in hosting experts to share international best practices and regulatory systems, such as Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
AusCham is pleased to support this constructive and forward-looking dialogue, reinforcing our commitment to advancing member interests and fostering stronger engagement with regulatory bodies in Vietnam.
