AusCham Highlights Australian Expertise at VCCI Green Logistics Forum in Vietnam

Hanoi, 11 July, 2025 – AusCham Executive Director Mr. Edwin Law and Head of Advocacy & Partnerships Ms. Huong Tran participated in the Green Logistics Forum held in Hanoi, reaffirming the Chamber’s commitment to promoting sustainable logistics practices and supporting Vietnam’s green transformation agenda.

The forum, themed “Momentum Amidst Volatility – Connection with FIATA World Congress 2025,” was co-organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA). The event served as a key platform to discuss green transformation in logistics and previewed the upcoming FIATA World Congress, which Vietnam will host in October 2025.

Representing AusCham, Mr. Edwin Law delivered a keynote speech, sharing insights from the Australian business community and highlighting the role of innovation, cross-border collaboration, and policy alignment in driving green logistics.

“Green logistics is no longer a future concept. It’s a strategic imperative for businesses today,” Mr. Vanderbruggen said. “Australian companies—both at home and those operating in Vietnam—are investing in cleaner transport fleets, renewable energy, and digital innovation to reduce environmental impact while enhancing efficiency.”

He cited examples of Australian-led efforts such as route optimisation, real-time fleet tracking using IoT, and the development of smart warehouse systems. These technologies, he noted, are increasingly being introduced in Vietnam through Australian-invested firms working closely with local partners.

The Executive Director also emphasized AusCham’s ongoing collaboration with VCCI and its growing engagement with FIATA, noting the importance of multilateral partnerships in advancing green supply chain solutions.

“This trilateral collaboration between VCCI, FIATA, and AusCham plays a vital role in accelerating the adoption of sustainable logistics,” he said. “Together, we can build bridges between Australian capabilities and Vietnamese opportunities.”

AusCham is actively supporting Vietnam’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and sees logistics reform as a central component of that ambition.

The forum attracted a broad range of stakeholders, including government agencies, logistics providers, and international organizations. It also served as a curtain-raiser for the FIATA World Congress 2025, set to take place in Vietnam in October, positioning the country as a regional leader in sustainable logistics innovation.
