AusCham highlights Investment Confidence Through Legal Predictability
HANOI – On May 27, 2026, Ms. Natalie Fairlie, Vice Chair of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AusCham), joined policymakers, legal experts, and business leaders at Vietnam ADR Week 2026 (VAW2026), contributing to discussions on strengthening Vietnam’s investment climate through legal certainty, risk management, and effective dispute resolution.

Speaking during the panel discussion titled “Enhancing Legal Certainty and Predictability in Vietnam’s Investment and Business Environment,” Ms. Fairlie shared the perspective of Australian businesses operating in Vietnam, emphasizing that long-term investors place strong importance on regulatory consistency, transparent policymaking, and meaningful consultation between government and the business community.

She highlighted that while Vietnam remains one of the most attractive expansion destinations in ASEAN for Australian companies, businesses continue to support greater clarity in areas such as regulatory implementation, taxation, banking services, and sector-specific investment conditions. Ms. Fairlie also stressed the importance of practical consultation mechanisms and stronger public-private dialogue to support sustainable investment growth.
The discussion brought together representatives from government agencies, business associations, and legal experts, providing diverse perspectives on Vietnam’s evolving investment environment. Chairman of KoCham, Mr. Ko Tae Yeon shared insights on the risks and operational challenges faced by foreign investors in Vietnam, while Mr. Seck Yee Chung - Vice Chairman of SingCham discussed recent regulatory developments and emerging compliance issues affecting businesses. Mr. Dau Anh Tuan - Vice Secretary-General cum Director of Legal Department at VCCI also highlighted the role of state policies and institutional reforms in strengthening investor confidence and improving the overall business environment.

During her remarks, Ms. Fairlie also highlighted the growing collaboration between AusCham and the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC), which became AusCham’s Strategic Partner following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in December 2025. Since the partnership was established, the two organizations have jointly delivered a range of initiatives, including legal and arbitration-focused webinars, professional exchanges, and industry discussions aimed at supporting the business community in navigating Vietnam’s evolving legal landscape.
