AusCham Joins Dialogue with General Department of Taxation to Strengthen Business Collaboration
On 12th February 2025, the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) Tax & Customs Working Group hosted a productive dialogue with the General Department of Taxation (GDT) under the Ministry of Finance, marking another step in enhancing communication between foreign-invested enterprises (FDIs) and Vietnam's tax authorities.
The session, chaired by Mr. Đặng Ngọc Minh, Deputy General Director of GDT, featured key leaders from GDT, its departments, and provincial tax offices. AusCham, along with other business representatives, participated actively in the discussions, reinforcing the collaborative spirit of the event.
Ms. Hương Vũ, Head of the Tax & Customs Working Group, and Ms. Virginia Foote, VBF Board Member, led the conversations on behalf of VBF, guiding the dialogue through a series of critical tax-related topics raised by members. The event brought together over 100 representatives from FDIs, emphasizing the strong partnership between the private sector and tax authorities.
With Mr. Minh moderating the session, participants had the opportunity to raise specific taxation issues, receiving immediate guidance and clarifications from GDT officials. This direct engagement fostered a transparent and supportive environment for businesses to address challenges and gain a better understanding of Vietnam's tax policies.
This dialogue, part of an ongoing collaboration between VBF and GDT, highlights the government’s commitment to improving the investment climate for FDIs, ensuring that tax policies are clear and conducive to business success in Vietnam. Regular dialogues like this play a vital role in creating a business-friendly environment, with both the GDT and businesses working together towards sustainable growth and development.
