Hanoi, 10 November 2025, the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) 2025 convened under the theme “Businesses Partnering with the Government for a Green Transformation in the Digital Era”.

Australian Chamber of Commerce Vietnam (AusCham) was represented at the Forum, where our Director, David Whitehead, delivered remarks on behalf of AusCham and our fellow Associate Members of the Forum - including the Singapore Chamber of Commerce Vietnam, Hong Kong Business Association Vietnam, China Trade Centre Vietnam, Italian–Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, Thai–Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and the Swiss Business Association Vietnam. The event also welcomed the participation of H.E. Gillian Bird, Ambassador of Australia to Vietnam.

In his address, Mr Whitehead affirmed AusCham’s commitment to supporting Australian–Vietnam business engagement, and emphasised three core priorities: accelerating digital transformation within business operations; embedding sustainable, green practices and ESG principles across value chains; and forging stronger public‑private cooperation to support Vietnam’s institutional reform and green‑digital economy agenda.

The Forum featured a keynote by Phạm Minh Chính, Prime Minister of Vietnam, who noted that “the world is entering a deep‑seated transformation” in which geopolitics, trade protectionism, the climate crisis and digitalisation are converging. He highlighted Vietnam’s ambition to be a “bright star in Asia” based on its open economy, reform momentum, anchoring of digital and green transitions, and its global integration efforts.

The Prime Minister outlined major tasks for the coming period: maintaining macroeconomic stability and growth; accelerating industrialisation, modernisation and urbanisation; and making green and digital transformations core to Vietnam’s development model. He called on both domestic and foreign firms to actively invest, transfer technology and become leaders in sustainable practices, with a particular emphasis on FDI enterprises partnering with Vietnamese firms.

The Forum also underscored that this year’s edition goes beyond dialogue — as described by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Chairman, it is a “forum of commitment” in which businesses pledge long‑term partnership with the Government. Hundreds of recommendations from the business community were submitted, focusing on four breakthrough areas: institutional reform and enforcement; building “soft” digital infrastructure (data, cybersecurity, e‑commerce); accelerating green infrastructure (clean energy, carbon markets); and unlocking capital flows for the private sector.

AusCham welcomes the Forum’s strong focus on green and digital growth and stands ready to contribute to Vietnam’s transition. We look forward to working alongside Vietnamese Government agencies, partner business associations and our own members to advance investment, innovation and trade that is digital‑first, climate‑smart, and globally integrated.
