AusCham Leadership Attends Prime Minister's Conference with the Business Community

Hanoi, 18 July 2026 – Representatives of the Board of Directors of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AusCham Vietnam) (David Whitehead, Tommy Tran, Richard Nguyen and Ha Anh Hoang) attended the Prime Minister's Conference with the Business Community, chaired by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung at the Government Office in Hanoi.

Held under the theme "Removing Bottlenecks – Unlocking Resources – Driving Growth", the Conference brought together senior Government leaders, ministries, provincial authorities, business associations, and representatives of domestic and foreign-invested enterprises to discuss measures to improve Vietnam's business environment, strengthen private sector confidence, and accelerate sustainable economic growth.

Throughout the Conference, representatives of business associations and enterprises highlighted a number of persistent bottlenecks affecting business operations and investment. Key issues raised included lengthy administrative procedures, overlapping and inconsistent regulations, delays in licensing and project approvals, challenges in accessing land and finance, and the need for greater policy consistency and predictability. Delegates also called for faster implementation of administrative reforms, stronger digitalisation of public services, clearer regulatory guidance, and more effective mechanisms for incorporating businesses' feedback into the policymaking process.

In his closing remarks, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung reaffirmed the Government's commitment to fostering an open, transparent, and predictable investment environment. He stressed that legitimate concerns raised by businesses must be addressed comprehensively and effectively, while directing ministries and local authorities to accelerate institutional reforms, streamline administrative procedures, strengthen digital transformation, and improve the quality of public services. The Prime Minister also underscored the importance of ensuring that the business community is actively engaged throughout the development and implementation of laws and regulations, while promoting stronger linkages between domestic and foreign-invested enterprises to enhance Vietnam's competitiveness.

The Conference provided an important platform for the Government and the business community to exchange views on practical solutions to improve the investment climate and unlock new opportunities for sustainable growth. The discussions reaffirmed the critical role of close public-private dialogue in supporting Vietnam's economic development and reform agenda.
