AusCham Participates in Dialogue between VBF and Vietnam Customs
Hanoi, 2 October 2025 – AusCham participated in the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) dialogue with the Department of Customs, held at the Department’s headquarters in Hanoi.
The dialogue was chaired by Mr. Dao Thinh Vinh, Deputy Director General of the Legal Board, with the participation of senior representatives from the Legal Board, the Customs Supervision and Management Board, and the Customs Tax Operations Board.

The VBF delegation was led by Ms. Huong Vu, Head of the VBF Tax & Customs Working Group, accompanied by VBF Board Members Mr. David Whitehead (AusCham) and Mr. Minh Nguyen (EuroCham).
AusCham was represented at the meeting by Mr. David Whitehead, Board Member, and Ms. Huong Tran, Head of Advocacy & Partnerships. The meeting also welcomed more than 60 representatives from foreign-invested enterprises across Vietnam.
Discussions focused on a wide range of issues of importance to the business community, including:
The consistency and transparency of customs valuation procedures;
Classification of imported goods and the application of HS codes;
VAT refunds and tax policies related to imports and exports;
Digitalization and customs risk management;
Practical matters concerning bonded warehouses and customs audits.
As a long-standing member of VBF, AusCham was pleased to contribute to this important exchange, which strengthens collaboration between Vietnam Customs and the international business community.
