AusCham Supports Vietnam Climate Week 2026: Connecting Australian Expertise with Vietnam’s Green Transition
VIETNAM – 19-22 October 2026 – AusCham Vietnam was pleased to support Vietnam Climate Week 2026 as a Community Partner, joining government, business, investors, innovators and development partners in discussions on Vietnam’s climate transition and green growth.
Held across Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho, the inaugural Vietnam Climate Week reflected the different climate and economic priorities across Vietnam.
- Hanoi – Climate Partnerships & Energy Transition
- Da Nang – Green Finance
- Ho Chi Minh City – Climate Enterprise, Innovation & Investment
- Can Tho – Climate-Smart Agriculture & Mekong Delta Adaptation
The multi-city format brought together policy, finance, technology, enterprise and locally grounded climate solutions, creating a national platform for collaboration ahead of COP31.
AusCham connecting business and climate opportunities
As a Community Partner of Vietnam Climate Week 2026, AusCham supported the initiative through its network and helped strengthen connections between the Australian and Vietnamese business communities around climate innovation, investment and sustainable development.
AusCham representatives and members were also actively involved during the Week.
In Ho Chi Minh City, AusCham President Sam Conroy participated in the Climate Enterprise Showcase, which brought together climate enterprises, investors, corporations and ecosystem partners to explore how promising solutions can move from pilot stage to commercial scale.
AusCham’s network was also represented by William Taing of Beanstalk AgTech, who joined the fireside chat “When Collaboration Brings About Big Ideas,” sharing perspectives on how collaboration can help turn innovation into practical and scalable solutions, particularly in agriculture.
In Central Vietnam, Adrian Robertson, Founder of MyTeam and AusCham’s Central Region Representative, continued to strengthen connections between Australian businesses and local partners in Da Nang and the wider region.
Together, these engagements reflected AusCham’s role in connecting Australian expertise, businesses and networks with locally relevant climate and investment opportunities across Vietnam.

Australian Government support
Vietnam Climate Week also highlighted the depth of Australia’s broader engagement in Vietnam’s green transition.
The Australian Government was the Platinum Sponsor of Vietnam Climate Week 2026, with Australian Government representatives participating across all four city programmes. Australia’s engagement builds on initiatives including Aus4Growth, Aus4Adaptation, Aus4Innovation and Transforming Rice Value Chains, supporting Vietnam in areas ranging from innovation and resilience to agriculture and sustainable economic development.
At the Da Nang Green Finance Summit, Australian Consul-General Kate Wallace highlighted the importance of mobilising private capital and creating the conditions for long-term green investment.
Australia’s cooperation with development finance institutions is already helping unlock climate investment in Vietnam. Speaking at the Summit, Ms Wallace noted that the Australia–International Finance Corporation partnership has helped mobilise more than US$1 billion in climate-related investment in Vietnam.
Her visit to Da Nang also created opportunities for engagement with government, universities and businesses, reinforcing the increasingly important role of Central Vietnam in the broader Australia–Vietnam economic relationship.

Australia’s broader involvement highlighted the growing depth of bilateral cooperation in areas including clean energy, green finance, innovation, agriculture, resilience and skills development.
From national ambition to locally relevant solutions
One of the strongest messages from Vietnam Climate Week was that Vietnam’s climate transition is national in ambition but local in implementation.
Hanoi’s priorities around institutions and energy transition differ from Da Nang’s focus on green finance and coastal resilience. Ho Chi Minh City brings together enterprise, technology, investment and commercial scale, while the Mekong Delta faces urgent challenges around agriculture, water, resilience and adaptation.
Vietnam Climate Week’s four-city model helped bring these different dimensions together – connecting national policy ambitions with the businesses, investors, technologies and communities responsible for implementation.

For AusCham, this also points to an important emerging dimension of the Australia–Vietnam economic relationship.
Australia has significant capability across renewable energy, green finance, climate technology, water management, sustainable agriculture, education and skills development. Vietnam, meanwhile, presents a rapidly evolving market where these capabilities can be combined with local expertise, market knowledge and innovation.
The opportunity is not simply to transfer Australian solutions into Vietnam, but to develop commercially viable partnerships tailored to the needs of individual industries and regions.
As Australia and Vietnam continue to deepen cooperation under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, AusCham looks forward to supporting its members and partners in identifying opportunities where climate action, innovation, trade and investment can reinforce one another.
AusCham Vietnam thanks the organisers, partners, Australian Government representatives, members and businesses who contributed to Vietnam Climate Week 2026 and looks forward to continuing these conversations beyond the Week.
