The session primarily focused on introducing Lang Son Province’s key assets, including the UNESCO-recognized Lang Son Global Geopark, and exploring opportunities for collaboration in geotourism, investment, and product exports.
Promoting Lang Son’s Investment and Tourism Potential
During the session, the Lang Son delegation presented a comprehensive overview of the province, outlining its economic strengths, investment policies, and the region’s tourism potential. The delegation emphasized Lang Son’s commitment to attracting foreign investment and discussed initiatives aimed at enhancing trade and tourism links with Australia.
AusCham representatives expressed strong interest in Lang Son’s potential, particularly its transportation infrastructure and investment opportunities. They also highlighted the province’s handicraft industry, which could serve both tourism and export markets.
Mr. David Whitehead, Chairman of Mavin Group, praised the Lang Son Global Geopark’s potential for developing geotourism and ecotourism, which he noted would be particularly appealing to Australian tourists with a penchant for outdoor activities and nature-focused travel.
Mr. Whitehead also outlined key considerations for Australian investors, including transport logistics, market access, and the need for streamlined administrative processes. He urged the provincial government to continue simplifying business procedures and offer tax incentives and one-stop solutions to attract investment.
Ms. Cynthia Mann shared insights from her work with ethnic minority communities in Vietnam, emphasizing the importance of handicraft production as a tool for preserving cultural traditions while also generating jobs and promoting tourism. She encouraged Lang Son to identify key products for branding and export, which could help create value chains and distinguish the province in global markets.
