Strengthening Ties: AusCham Meets with VCCI Leaders to discuss potential collaboration

HANOI - On 10th October 2024, a delegation from the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AusCham), led by President Mr. Sam Conroy, convened with leaders from the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to explore potential collaboration between the two organizations. This meeting marks a significant step towards enhancing the bilateral trade and investment relationship between Australia and Vietnam, particularly in light of the recent Declaration aimed at upgrading their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

During the meeting, Mr. Conroy introduced the newly appointed Board of Directors of AusCham and provided an overview of the chamber's recent initiatives designed to support the Australian business community in Vietnam. He emphasized the shared mission of both AusCham and VCCI in fostering a robust business environment, expressing hope for a strengthened partnership that would benefit both Australian and Vietnamese enterprises operating in the region.

Mrs. Tran Thi Lan Anh, General Secretary of VCCI, warmly welcomed the AusCham delegation and highlighted Australia’s potential as a key investor in Vietnam. She noted that the upgrade to a comprehensive strategic partnership would create fertile ground for increasing Australian business presence in the country. With VCCI's extensive business network across Vietnam, Mrs. Lan Anh assured that the organization is committed to supporting and connecting businesses from both nations.

Furthermore, she underscored the importance of revitalizing the Vietnam Australian Business Council (VABC), which serves as a crucial platform for fostering stronger partnerships between Australian and Vietnamese businesses. The collaboration between AusCham and VCCI is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing the operational effectiveness of the VABC, ultimately benefiting the broader business community.
