Vietnam Customs - Call for Comments on Draft Decree 08/2015/ND-CP (Amended) on customs procedures - COB 13th September

Dear AusCham Members and Friends,

The VBF has received Official Letter No. 4277/TCHQ-GSQL, dated 6 September 2024, from the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDC), inviting comments on the Draft Decree amending and supplementing certain articles of Decree 08/2015/ND-CP, which provides specific provisions and guidance on enforcement of the Customs Law on customs procedures, examination, supervision and control procedures. 

The Draft Decree has not yet been approved by the Government due to outstanding concerns, particularly regarding the on-spot export and import issues governed under Article 35 of the Decree.

Since then, the GDC has conducted a review, and amendments have been made to further improve the Draft. These revisions aim to make the regulations more stringent, feasible, and effective. The updated contents of the Draft are detailed in Column 4, Annex 3 (enclosed as file No. 5) for your reference.
