Thanh Loc Project Inc.

About

The Thanh Loc Project is an incorporated association in Australia which carries out 100% of it’s activities in Vietnam. We are also a registered NGO in Vietnam, run entirely by volunteers which means that we have very few admin or overhead charges, which enables almost 100% of funds to go directly into the poor areas in which we work. The activities are a very well planned and managed series of projects that give hope to those in need by building communities with a core focus on education. The Thanh Loc Project works to alleviate poverty by developing long term, sustainable solutions that provide a ‘hand up, not a hand out’. Our partner communes help with the building process, by joining the volunteers and tradespeople to assist with the building in their own commune.

The Thanh Loc Project began out of the desperate need for education and basic standards of living which Mr Rodney Stone, experienced on a visit to the Thanh Loc commune in South Vietnam in 2008. Thanh Loc commune is a very poor area in South West Vietnam where many children do not have the opportunity to go to school due to lack of financial resources or the dangers of crossing volatile canals. Rodney has joined together with Ms Ngan Le to develop projects that now assist with the improvement of education and living conditions of the poor people in the Kien Giang and Hau Giang provinces.

2019 represents our 10th year of operations in Vietnam, an achievement which we are very proud of.
