About

The Australian Embassy is the Australian Government’s representative in Vietnam.

The Embassy is responsible for maintaining and developing Australia’s bilateral relationship with Vietnam in a diverse range of areas including: trade and investment; development cooperation; education and training; technology and agriculture; defence; and law enforcement.

The Embassy includes representatives from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT); the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade); the Australian Department of Home Affairs; the Australian Federal Police (AFP); the Australian Department of Defence; Australian Department of Education; the Australian Department of Agriculture; the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) and the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).

Both the Embassy and Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City provide consular and passport services for Australians in Vietnam. In accordance with the priority the Australian Government attaches to assisting its citizens in need overseas, the Embassy and Consulate-General remain committed to providing high quality services.

Australian citizens in Vietnam are strongly encouraged to register themselves and their families with the Embassy or the Consulate-General through the Smartraveller website www.smartraveller.gov.au.
