Growing up in a small rural village in the north of Vietnam, where most of Ms. Van Dang's childhood revolved around helping her family make ends meet, no one would have thought that she would go on to be among the influential leaders in STEMM one day.
After excelling at high school, Ms. Van went on to study at Hanoi National University, where she ultimately chose computer science as her major. She later came to Australia on a scholarship and completed her Bachelor of Computer Science at The University of Sydney in 2004. Even though Van's English skills were not as good as the others at that time and missed home immensely. Ms. Van still made big strive and found herself a part-time job. Working kept her busy and improved her social skills as well as helped her understand Australian culture. Studying in Australia also assisted Van with navigating her path in life and discovering her passions later on in her career.
Ms. Van has always believed in courage and the strength to find inner peace. To her, the key on the way to success is to learn new skills and to ignore other people's doubts that might influence oneself.

Van has experience in international markets and provides advice and support to global partners on optimizing business processes through effective offshoring. She is also a mentor and partner at the Cherie Blair Foundation for women, and in 2021 she was appointed to be the next Asia Society-Victoria Distinguished Fellowship. With her mission to strengthen the growing relationship by facilitating strong business connections in tech, innovation, and entrepreneurship, through outreach and people-to-people engagement between the Vietnamese and Victorian Government.
Additionally, she currently holds the positions of Vice President of the Alliance of Digital Technology Companies in Viet Nam, Vice President of Hanoi Women Entrepreneurs Association, and Steering Committee member of the Aus4Innovation program since 2019.
