The 40 Under 40: Most Influential Asian-Australians Awards are now open for applications - but don't delay, they close soon. Deadline 27 June 2021 An initiative of Asialink at the University of Melbourne, the Australian National University, Johnson Partners and PwC Australia, the Awards form part of the Asian-Australian Leadership Summit (AALS) 2021. Now in its third year, this initiative seeks to reshape the debate and confront Australia's "bamboo ceiling" - the underrepresentation of Asian-Australians in leadership positions. As communities, companies and governments rethink and reshape leadership for the post-pandemic world, now is the time to celebrate the powerful contribution of Asian-Australians to this country. Meet Jonathan, an Austrader who has been part of the awards. Austrader Jonathan Saw was chosen as an Asialink 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australians 2020 finalist, the same year he became an Australia Day Achievement Medallion recipient with Austrade. He has been an Austrader for almost 5 years, working across a wide range of industry sectors (including creative, digital technologies, professional services) in both trade and investment roles, supporting Australian businesses with their export and international expansion journeys and promoting and facilitating foreign direct investment into Australia. Jon is currently a Global Engagement Manager with the Excelerate Born Global team. Austrade encourages all eligible Austraders to apply and share their good work done in a number of key areas. Eligibility for all awards except the last on the list is: Australian citizens or permanent residents born after 1 November 1981 domiciled in Australia or abroad. The Under 25 Rising Star, a new award this year, recognises the contributions and impact of emerging young leaders who demonstrate ongoing excellence and growth in their relevant industry, field, sector or community.
