Borewell Project - ASIF Foundation

Borewell Project

Clean water shortage is a daily worry of ethnic minorities in Kon Tum province.

Current open-water sources, like rivers and streams, are highly susceptible to agricultural runoffs containing fertilizers and chemicals.

The project aims to provide 150 borewells in 7 districts in Kon Tum, reduce the time for trips to get water by 50%, provide 50,000 residents with clean drinking water and to increase access to education, health care and gender equality associated with insufficient access to clean water.

Australian Social Impact Foundation (ASIF) has contributed 120 borewells, representing 74% of the total. Local communities have contributed 10% leave 16% or 30 borewells left to build.

ASIF is calling for contributions to close the gap of 16% and reach the goal of 150 borewells.

Along with the Borewell project, ASIF Foundation also gives specialized water containers (Guis) to highland people with Gui project. GUI Project  is ASIF Foundation project in collaboration with Duy Tan Plastic Recycling to create and develop water containers (Guis) for people in the Central Highlands.
