Intrepid Travel Signs Exclusive Partnership to Shape Responsible Tourism in Vietnam
Intrepid Travel has signed an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Centre, to support the city’s ambition to become a leading sustainable tourism hub in Southeast Asia.
The agreement marks a strategic investment in one of Asia’s fastest-growing tourism economies, reinforcing Intrepid’s long-standing commitment to Vietnam as a core market for both growth and innovation. Under the MoU, Intrepid Vietnam will collaborate with the city to co-develop responsible tourism products and promote regional experiences beyond the urban centre.

The partnership comes as more than 420,000 Australian travelled to Vietnam in 2024 (ATIA), with Ho Chi Minh City remaining a key entry point. Vietnam has also been one of Intrepid’s most popular destinations globally, welcoming over 70,000 travellers from ANZ last year.
Intrepid will draw on more than 20 years of local experience and 36 years of global leadership in responsible tourism to help develop and promote eco-conscious itineraries, including national park tours, community-based experiences and nature-based adventures in regions such as Tay Ninh and Con Dao Island.
Natalie Kidd, Intrepid Travel’s Managing Director of Asia said: “Vietnam was the first destination where Intrepid established a destination management company, so signing this agreement in our 20th year operating in Vietnam is a significant milestone. It reflects not only our long-standing commitment to this country, but also our shared vision with Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Centre to support purpose-led tourism for the future. By combining our global expertise with local insights, we’re proud to support the city’s journey to becoming a greener, more inclusive destination.”
Hanh Nguyen, General Manager of Intrepid Vietnam, said:
“Our local knowledge helps us design experiences that are both culturally respectful and commercially impactful. This partnership is a chance to showcase what responsible travel can look like when it’s grounded in local insight, and we’re excited to work with Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Centre to welcome more travellers in a way that benefits people and planet.”
As part of the MoU, Intrepid Vietnam will also invite leading partners from its international network, including Australian brands Intrepid DMC and Auswalk, to participate in the International Buyer Program at ITE HCMC 2025, connecting Vietnam’s tourism sector with global industry leaders.
A joint campaign between Intrepid, Vietnam Airlines and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism is also planned for August and September 2025 to promote responsible travel and strengthen tourism ties with key markets including Australia.
