For the Love of Vietnam: Celebrating Three Decades of Grassroots Impact
For more than 30 years, Vietnam Foundation (VNF) has quietly and effectively helped some of Vietnam’s poorest communities break free from poverty. Through partnerships with local organisations and volunteers, VNF delivers practical, empowering programs that focus on long-term change - from education and clean water to sustainable livelihoods and community infrastructure.
This November, VNF marks a major milestone: three decades of service, collaboration and measurable impact across rural Vietnam. What began as a small group of volunteers in Australia with a shared passion for giving back has evolved into a trusted development organisation that continues to change lives - one bridge, one scholarship, one community at a time.
Building bridges - literally and figuratively
Among VNF’s most recognised initiatives is its Bridge Building Program, which has connected hundreds of isolated rural villages to schools, markets and essential services. These community-built bridges not only improve safety and access but also strengthen social and economic ties - allowing families to thrive and children to pursue education year-round.
Investing in the next generation
Education remains central to VNF’s mission. The Build a Future Scholarship Program supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds to continue their studies, breaking cycles of poverty through opportunity and encouragement. Many past recipients have gone on to become teachers, engineers and community leaders - embodying the Foundation’s belief in empowerment through education.
A legacy worth celebrating
To honour this journey, VNF is hosting a special 30th anniversary celebration, “For the Love of Vietnam”, on Sunday, 23 November 2025 at the Crystal Palace, Canley Heights NSW Australia. The evening will feature a Vietnamese banquet, cultural performances and stories of impact, with proceeds supporting ongoing programs in Vietnam.
The event is more than a celebration - it’s an expression of gratitude to the many individuals, families and organisations who have supported VNF’s mission over the years, and a call to continue investing in Vietnam’s future.
