Job Description:

As an Accountant, the incumbent is responsible for checking accounting documents, checking data entry and reconciliation of accounting records, preparing expenditure reports for projects, assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, perform budget monitoring, support in developing internal policies and templates and performing other accounting tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure payments are processed accurately, in compliance with cost norms, contract terms, and approved spending limits.

  • Review and verify contracts (research, consulting, commercial, etc.) to ensure that the procurement of goods and services complies with internal purchasing policies and regulations.

  • Check and verify expenditure documents and reports received from partners.

  • Liaise with study manager/ officier for accounting and finance instruction, support partner to complete expenditure documents and reports (if any).

  • Prepare and issue invoices along with supporting documents and monitor payment collection from clients.

  • Monitor project budgets and update monthly budget tracking reports; report to management and research coordinators on unusual expenses and remaining budgets by cost category within the assigned projects; highlight & provide explanations for significant variances.

  • Ensure that accounting records and systems within the assigned projects are accurately, completely, and promptly updated.

  • Prepare monthly tax for declaration and payment.

  • Assist management during the annual external audit and internal audit processes.

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.

  • Other jobs assigned by Finance Manager.

Job Requirements

Education:

University-level qualification in accounting or finance. CPA or Master is a plus.

Skills and Work Experience:

  • At least two (2) years of experience in accounting or financial management position.

  • Experience working with international organizations

  • Fluency in English

  • Proficiency in accounting software & Excel

  • Good knowledge of Vietnamese laws accounting, tax, and corporate laws; ensure full compliance with relevant regulations during daily operations.

  • Detail-oriented with good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and to take initiative.

  • Experience in implementing accounting software is an advantage.​

Location: Ha Noi

Contract Duration: 12-month appointment, with consideration for subsequent extension based on performance and funding availability.
