Opening Ceremony of the HCMC Economic Forum 2023

The Leadership of the Peoples Committee of Ho Chi Minh City invites you to attend the ‘Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum' (HEF 2023) themed ‘Green Growth - Towards Net Zero’ on Friday, 15 September 2023 at 8:00 am at Thisky Hall, Sala Convention Center, 10 Mai Chi To, Thu Duc City, HCMC, Vietnam.

Green growth and sustainable development have become the essential requirements for Vietnam and the prevailing trend in the world today. The promotion of green growth towards achieving sustainable development among countries is a break away from ‘solution first -treatment later’ development path. In Vietnam, the green growth goal is developed through the ’National Green Growth Strategy for 2011 - 2020, Vision Towards 2050’ which affirms that green growth helps using natural resources efficiently, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, responding to climate change, contributing to poverty alleviation and creating a driving force for sustainable economic growth.

    HEF 2023 will focus on the following topics:
    1.    The development trend of green growth and the circular economy for megacities (e.g. Ho Chi Minh City)
    2.    Building circular economy ecosystems in the context of striving to achieve net zero.
    3.    Policies for generating green growth towards net zero and corporate mission.
    4.    Resources for developing the circular economy to wards net zero and corporate mission.
    5.    Lessons and International expereince to promote green growth and a circular economy.
    6.    The Situation in Ho Chi Minh City and solutions for applying green growth models.
