Patrick Cornellius Downey 1938 - 2021

Monday, 10 May 2021, HCMC Vietnam - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Downey. The Australian Chamber of Commerce extends their condolences to Patrick Downey’s family on this occasion. It's fair to say that Patrick held strong convictions and was known for this; he no doubt had as many admirers for this as he had those who were not amused. Patrick was a founding Member of AusCham and long time supporter, both of which the chamber is eternally thankful for across many years of service. Patrick was also a paradox, being a very private person in his personal life and a very open and engaging person in business where he built enumerable relationships and networks for which he will be surely missed. Thank you Patrick for the regular Sunday emails containing jokes and pearls of wisdom boarding on deep philosophical questions of the universe that I am sure not many of us actually figured out.   Patrick, you will be missed and we only realize now that we were lucky to have you around us in the time we knew you.
